Since completing his post graduate studies in Screenplay Writing and Direction from Film and TV Institute of India, Pune in 1991, Ramchandra PN has been based in Mumbai.

Over the years he has been making documentaries, features, short films and TV programs. His first feature film SUDDHA (The Cleansing Rites) in Tulu language won him the Best Indian Film award at the Osian Cinefan Festival of Asian Films, New Delhi and was also a recpient of Hubart Bals exhibition grant. His second feature film PUTAANI PARTY (The Kid Gang) in Kannada language won the Best Children’s Film award at the Indian National Film Awards in 2009. His third feature HAAL-E-KANGAAL (The Bankrupts) in Hindi language has just been completed and is screened at various alternative screening venues all over India. He is presently completing his forth feature THE MAYA OF BUNNU K ENDO. His documentaries also have been screened at various film festivals.

Ramchandra is also involved in film studies and academics conducting workshops at various film and communication schools in India like FTII, Pune, LV Prasad Film Institute, Chennai, Craft School of Cinematography, Delhi, Aloysius College, Mangalore, MIT School of Film and TV, Loni, Rama Naidu Film School, Hyderabad, Whistling Woods Film School, Mumbai, School of Communication, Manipal, Central University of Hyderabad, etc.
